formatting a hard drive?

okay i have two computers and one has alot of viruses so my question is if i put my virus infected hard drive it in my other computer as a slave and go to my computer and hit format will it leave all original windows files in tact please no one tell me to get such and such ant virus please just answer that question but only if you know for sure first answer that tells me if the hard drive will keep the windows files will get best ty in advance

    NO if you format you will lose everything on the drive, i would slave it in and then run all the virus cleaners and such on D im assuming D is the slave drive and it should clean it that way, thats what i do with laptop h/d's people bring to me and it cleans them i throw it back in and done.

    Source(s): If you have a D drive then it will be E or F depending on how many other drives you have already setup get where im going with this. Anyhow if you right click on the drive and you have virus software and mbam loaded you can scan the drive this way and clean it .
