if i have already bid on an item on ebay and i want to set a maximum bid..?
when i type in the amount i wont to have as my maximum bid, will the price jump straight up to that, even if no-one else has bid yet?

No it wont jump straight up to your maximum bid. What you need to do is bid again up to your maximum bid then, if others start bidding yours will automatically kick in and you will keep being the winnerup to your maximum bid only. If a bidder bids more than your maximum then you will loose unless you increase your maximum bid again. Happy bidding and good luck.

no u can put a maximum bid in and no it wont go up unless other people bid up the price good luck hope u get it ur price

yeah I know it happen to me too all u have to do is bid again let say max bit is £80 but on the screen u cant see this bit u can only see previews bit let say £75. u cant just bid £76 even if u bid it wont be max price if u know wot mean....

No, it'll go in at the starting bid & then go up in increments unless someone else puts in a bid a little lower than your bid.

unless they update their maximum bid within the last few seconds and they put a bid higher than yours (which is unlikely with 30 secs left) then you will win it :) but the thing is no one knows how much the other person has set as their highest bid!
