There are a few current country artists who are at least attempting to keep it country. Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Ashton Shepherd, Jamey Johnson, and Justin Moore are a few that come to mind. Also, there are artists like George Strait, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, Lee Ann Womack, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley and Montgomery Gentry are a few artists who have been around for awhile and are still making some quality country music.

Absolutely, it is. There are a lot of regions in Canada in general and Alberta in particular where there is a "country" lifestyle. Small towns, blue-collar lifestyle, family values and that sort of thing. Shania Twain, Terri Clark, Emerson Drive, and others are all Canadian country singers. Emerson Drive is from Alberta, Terri Clarke is from Montréal, and Shania Twain is from Windsor, Ontario. There's a Canadian Country Music Association and even a Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.

Just to add to Forgiven's list, try some Jamey Johnson, Zac Brown Band, Hank 3, and hmm.

There's some great country music out there still, you just gotta look past the "Cookie Cutter Trashville Shoved Down Your Throat" radio of today..Good luck with that.

country is its own world. in the rock world there are many sub-genres like pop, metal, punk, etc... kinda the same in country. theres pop country thats basically the same mass produced generic sound then theres the more rockin country and southern rock, etc... all those new guys you mentioned i consider to be pop country. kenny chesney was good until about 3-4 years ago. right now im really diggin montgomery gentry. great songs with a little more attitude. trace adkins is good and have you heard the new toby keith song american ride? bad ***
