Global warming is caused by the Sun. It is the sole source of energy that affects our planet.
However, the amount of heat that our planet retains (and thus determines our average temperature) is dependent on other factors. These are: albedo and the atmosphere. However, those two factors are very complex and their interaction with the Sun is not completely understood.
Another long term factor is the Earth's tilt and orbit cycles. These seem to be correlated to ice ages. However, these factors occur over thousands of years so they don't seem to be significant if we are talking about a century or two.
Man is affecting the Earth's albedo through deforestation, construction of cities and agriculture. Man is also affecting the atmosphere by emitting CO2 through the burning of fossil fuels.
The main argument is how much man is affecting global climate versus how much natural causes are affecting climate. Some will tell you man is the primary source of affecting climate while others will say that's not proved or we simply aren't sure yet.

50 years ago it used to be called "The Greenhouse Effect." Polluting gases forming an envelope around the earth that prevent the heat escaping, as glass does in a greenhouse. People focus on the polar regions because the effects are most visible there. As ice and snow melt, you lose the reflective surface that used to send the heat back out into space. Melting icecaps can only cause a rise in worldwide sea levels. Warming, higher seas, cause climatic changes as well as changes to the coastlines. Stronger storms. Shifting patterns of rainfall. That is the theory, and it makes sense to me.
On the other hand there is indisputable proof of ice ages in days gone by. That they went away can only mean that there warming trends before - without the help of we polluting humans.
I don't know the truth of the matter, but those are the conflicting explanations.

Due to increasing pollution, the amount of green house gases like Carbon dioxide, monoxide etc increases in the air which causes temperature to rise. This is called global warming. This is caused by a number of things, it can be pollution, excess vehicles, lights, anything that causes heat to be generated like ACs...It may cause the ice glaciers to melt and then the entire world will drown in water.

Global warming is a tool to put you in line. This is caused by the people in power who want to condition you. They get money and gain more power is what happens.

Pollution due to waste gasas, burning of coal etc.cause green house effect i.e. making of a layer of ozone in the sky .such layer caused obstruction in returning heat from the earth .(we know that half part of the heat received by earth from the sun in the day light are reflected at night in the atmoshphere). so inveronment becomes hot day by day. This caused to melt the ice of the mountains and finally due to increase of water in sea .so increasing level of the sea may cause one day to submerge the earth in the water.

Global warming is a farce pushed by lobbyist in order to gain funding for research and the .gov accepts it as reality so as to further claim more power over its people and their lifestyles i.e. EPA and other greenie meaures
