New cigarette package warnings?
I'm curious. Do you think the gruesome pictures that will be put on cigarette packages will deter smoking?

Canada has had them for years. It hasn't effected the number of people who smoke. I worked with some Canadians who were joking about their pictures. It went a little like this, "Hey, I got the baby!" "Awww..I got the liver again", "I got the teeth but yesterday I had the lungs!".
It made no difference. It won't make a difference here.

They already do this over seas, and it has not made people quit smoking, so putting those pictures on the packs will not do anything.

No, what happens with this stuff is that people see it the first time and then stop noticing it.
