    Your best option to find out California State Laws governing California would be to go to the Home school Legal Defense Association's website hslda.org It gives all 50 states laws governing home education. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

    edit: i agree with the post above me. the home schooled student will need to be withdrawn from their current school before they can start home schooling, so talking to the guidance counselors may be a good idea- they can help, especially since they know the area and what is available near you.
