You can download and install Office 2007 for Vista. That is actually the OS that it was made for. Office 2003 was made for XP.
Here is the System Requirements for Office 2007 just so you know:
Processor (CPU)
500 megahertz (MHz) or higher *
RAM
256 megabytes (MB) or more *
NOTE: Grammar and contextual spelling in Word is not turned on unless the machine has 1 GB memory
Hard Drive
2 gigabytes (GB) or more *
NOTE: A portion of this disk space will be freed after installation if the original download package is removed from the hard drive.
Monitor
1024x768 or higher resolution
Other Drives
CD-ROM or DVD drive
Operating System
Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 2 or later *, Server 2003 with (SP) 1 or Later, and Windows Vista
Web Browser
Internet Explorer 6.0 or later, 32 bit browser only. Internet functionality requires Internet access.
Edit: "it works on every version of windows, even windows 7"
NOT TRUE, Office 2007 will not work on any operating system before Windows XP so that includes 2000, NT, 98, and 95. Get your facts straight before you post an answer like that!!

The product key on the botton of the notebook is for Windows XP, not Office (read the sticker, it says Windows XP). You actually have to buy Microsoft Office separately. No computer comes with Microsoft Office; they only come with a trial of office.

Absolutely! Here's a link for the 60 trial of Office: https://us20.trymicrosoftoffice.com/shopperinfo2.a...
Or if you're sure you'd like to purchase Office, here's the link: http://us20.trymicrosoftoffice.com/product.aspx?sk...

I am using OpenOffice. No cd keys, no version conflicts, embedded PDF converter, and fully compatible with MS file formats.
When saving your documents, just select the file type as DOC instead of its default format ODT.
You can install it into even a USB flashdisk.

it works on every version of windows, even windows 7, just dont buy it, because office 2010 is comming out soon and it has a nicer interface.
