If you have a social security number, as all Americans do, the Credit Union will run your number and find you, wherever you're hiding out, the government will find you. Call the bank and find out if you are in default yet, most likely you are. So, they will ask if you can make payments for six months to get off the default status. Otherwise the government WILL take it out of your income tax returns. The government will work with you. The sooner you take care of it, the sooner you can return to school and educate yourself.
