Brownie Pan Substitution?

If you are making brownies and the box says bake in 8x8 pan... can you use a 8x14 pan instead?

Update:

oh yeah it says bake for 38-42 mins.... if i use the other pans how long would i bake then

The only difference is that the brownies will be thinner and won't take as long to bake - keep an eye on the and use a toothpick to see if they are done - if it comes out clean then they are done if it comes out with brownie mix on it test again in 10 Min's at 350'

They would be way too thin and the baking time would be way shorter and I would also turn the temp down as that thin they would be easier to burn. Do you have a 9 inch round cake pan? Small glass casserole or muffin pans would work too. adjust the time and check at about 28 minutes for round and 20-22 for muffins.

No -- you cannot use a pan that size unless you double the recipe. If you try to use that size pan, your brownies will be flat and crisp -- and burned.
