Where would you prefer to visit? Australia or New Zealand?
I am completely curious about others views on the matter!

Both countries have a vast amount to offer, and great diversity.
From a cost point of view NZ is cheaper.
Being Australian and having toured most of Australia at one time or another and recently having toured NZ I cannot pick between them.
Australia has the Great Barrier Reef and the Tropics in the North; the beaches down the east coast; the Harbour, Bridge and Opera House of Sydney; the cafe scene in Melbourne, the English charm of Tasmania, the stunning beauty of the inland deserts, the aboriginal culture in the North (and elsewhere), Uluru in the centre and so much I have not mentioned in between.
NZ is a much younger country - active volcanoes etc - lush greenery, rolling countrysides, mountain vistas and Maori culture to name a little.
You can get a taste of NZ very quickly because it is so compact, whereas Australia is so spreadsheet out it takes so much longer to see everything.
Ultimately I would choose to live in Australia and gradually tour round and visit NZ.

Well I live in the South Island of New Zealand and also am a marketing manager of a big tour operator so I am kind of expected to say New Zealand but I love love LOVE Australia. I have been there 11 times so what can I say, it is a brilliant country.
I would say both - and since most people have to travel such a long distance to get to either country I would recommend taking the time to see them both.

If I did not live in Australia then I'd definitely prefer to visit Australia, but I guess it all depends on what you want to see. The South Island in New Zealand does have some really great nature.

Since I live in Australia, visiting Australia I do every day. So my answer would be New Zealand.

I find it difficult to choose. I've lived in NZ, and visited AU. I think there is so much to see and do in both places. It just comes down to what is most interesting to you.
But if you're planning on visiting from the North America or Europe- I would go see both. The cost of airfare is the biggest expense, so might as well do both while you're down under.

Either place is cool in its own way, I would visit either of them with no real preference
