If people only answer to get points, would you really trust what they are saying? I will answer because I want to help, not because "points" matter.
You need to log in to your mobile account ( https://www.wireless.att.com/olam/loginAction.olam... ). Once you are logged into your account, click on "Check Upgrade Option" ( https://www.wireless.att.com/olam/ugPhoneAction.ol... ) under Phone/Device. This will take you to a screen that should tell you at the bottom when you are eligible for "full discount", which will be a future date, such as 8/29/2010, which means you originally started your current contract date on 8/29/ 2008.
You can also call customer support (*611) from your cell phone, which is a free call, and ask them.
