Is there such a thing as professional jealousy?

can a person be so jealous of your work ethic and quality that they will try to undermine it.

    unfortunately yes, and if they continue to undermine others with their envy, it will catch up... I would hope they could turn from it before that, though... there are not sayings about envy & jealousy for nothing...

    Some ppl think that whatever they don't want to believe will make it go away -kinda like in inconvenient truth... If they have "power of the mind" why don't they practice it with the weather men or the stock market. :/

    yes.I even once heard of a case where the Dean of Students was jealous of a student for being more professionally successful (the student was a published author, ran a non-profit. She was older than your typical college student due to being in the military) in addition she had a 4.0 and worked full time and the Dean of Students was so jealous of this girl that she made her life hell for the entire semester only to have the entire veteran community and her professors give this Dean hell in return.

    anyone can be jealous of anyone.
