These are very bad signs as guinea pigs are prey animal and will hide the fact that they are ill until the are in the acute stages and when they are cold you unusually only have a matter of hours left.

I do like the idea of trying to get the banana into him if it is a nice ripe one, the sugar should give him some energy. However at this point trying to get him to swallow may be a task.

Oh dear ! First i'd just like to say that i wish you both the best of luck !

i really dont know whats wrong to be honest , is it possible that ( if he's new ) he's just VERY scared ? is he eating and drinking if so thats a good sign , is it possible that you could take him in the house for warmth ? feed him an apple , guinea pigs love them , if you dont have an apple in feed him any guinea pig safe treats you have , even washed grass or dandelion leaves ! Think positive , many times i have been VERY concerned about my pets and its been nothing too serious . perhaps its a cold ... imagine having cold/flu yourself , you dont really want to drink too much , you feel sick , tired and cold ... it could be that they'd probably prescribe medicine . if you phone your vets now , you should be directed to a 24 hr service open allways for emergencies - you know your pet , if he's acting different , he could be very ill . put lots of bedding in and keep a close eye on him . i hope he's ok and gets better soon . monitor drinking and feed wet veg to make sure he doesn't dehydrate !so keep im warm aswell .

when you chose best answer please let us know how he's doing !

goodluck barney , get better soon x ♥

I know how sad you must be, pets can make you so happy, spending time with them, looking after them. But we all must remember that at some point we all have to pass away, and for some it may come sooner and for others later Just remember all the fun you had with him. I always believed that my pets go to the Rainbow Bridge, and live on a cloud and nibble away at grass and lettuce. Why don't you wait a little bit, and then decide weather you want a new Guinea pig. =/

Well first of all.. vets are open on weekends usually, and there are emergancy vets which are there 24/7 so try hard to find one ...

Guinea pigs should be kept inside so keep him inside while he's ill..

Get a syringe (without needle) and give water and mushed up food... he might not want it but he needs it to live.

Make sure he's warm and away from stressful things like other animals or loud noises...

Phone your vet no. which should give you an emergency number to contact over the bank holiday weekend. These tiny stressed animals can deteriorate very quickly and he needs help. He may just be very stressed from a change in surrounding and owner. Keep him warm indoors and tempt him with things to eat and drink.

Hmmm he might die on you I wont promise this will keep him from dieing but Get some sweet fruit like a banana and try to get him to eat the sugar in it should give him energy. Keep him hydrated get a eyedropper and give him water on his lips DON'T force the water. You really do need to take him to the vet asap though if he makes it till Monday.

your best bet is bring barney in doors where its warmer to try and warm him up till u can get to the vet he may die/or he may not just give him love and fruit or some warm milk inside him he might be ok not making any promises ok

as soon as the vets are open, take him there. until then, its unlikly he will die over the corse of 2 or 1 days. if you check up on him regually every day, make sure he has food and water, cuddle him to make him warm and happy, then he should be ok until the vets. it might jst be him getting used to a new home.
