the question is faulty!
the variable x cancels out on both sides leaving nothing to solve abt??!!!?!?!
and 1/2x is definitely not the answer!!!!!!!!

yes the two equations do equal each other, when you do out all the match it ends up being
3x - 1.5 = 3x - 1.5

in calculus there is a lot of things you can do with those numbers...what is it you are trying to get?
