Who here is for term limits on Congress?

The U.S. Congress is beset on all sides by special interests. The original intent of the founding Fathers has been subverted by greed. With the amount of money required to run for Congress, the accountability to the American people has been disconnected. There are"Tax collectors in the Temple", The special interests have installed "aides" in every Congressional office, They are the Foxes guarding the Hen house. Until Term limits are impressed upon Congress, reform cannot begin. Congress needs to be reformed in the worst way!

Great question! If our elected officials had to remember the electorate they were working for they would represent the people and not become super glued to the party. The arrogance would stop. These people could serve their Country with integrity, add greatly to their resumes and return to private life and once again live productive lives in their own states and districts.

Decades in Congress is fertile field for corruption, abuse, arrogance and separation from the real people they represent.

TERM LIMITS NOW and change of laws for their salaries, their aides/staff, retirement and other perks. They need to serve out of love for the U.S., it's Constitution without a quest for money, ego-satisfaction or never ending perks and paybacks.

There is no other way to remain a Government for the people and by the people.

I can see why some people would argue in favor of term limits, but I don't really think they're a good idea. Who's to say that members of Congress who are in their second term won't make hay while the sun shines and not do their best, since they won't be motivated by the prospect of reelection to do their utmost to represent the interests of their constituents?

If only Ted Kennedy was a was a successful Republican senator who had been re-elected several times through overwhelming popularity...then you wouldn't give a crap about term limits, would you? Just like you didn't give a crap about Mary Jo, or even know who she was, until Ted died.

Sounds like a sore loser to me.
