The church in the US has to pay taxes?
In my country they don't have to pay, but I think they should.

Churches in the US are tax-exempt unless their exemption status has been pulled by the IRS. That has happened to a few churches that became active in politics. The separation of church and state is a two-way street in the US. The state cannot adopt an official church, preach religion, or restrict how citizens worship, but churches must also stay out of the political process or they risk loss of their tax exempt status.
@MiM: Where do you get this "filing status" thing from? Individuals have filing statuses, not organizations like churches.

Churches in the US pay no income taxes. They are often required to pay local taxes for garbage service, etc., and they typically get their knickers all in a twist about that, but I cannot understand why; they are simply businesses that make money of off people's gullibility!

Depends on the church and its filing status.
