Have a Question about an Irish Faerie Prince?
I reead a trilogy by Nora Roberts and it was a story about three siblings by the name of Gallager residing in Ardmore, and one of the repeating characters was Carrick, prince of faeries. Is Carrick truly a character of Irish history, or was he a made up character by the author? His story of him and his love Gwen is quite beautiful, so I thought I might like to know if it was real or not. Thanks so much in advance!

I haven't read the trilogy or heard of the story, but from your description it doesn't sound at all like an Irish myth. Gwen is a Welsh name, and Carrick doesn't sound like a name that a character from an Irish myth would have. It would feature in placenames, but never in my experience as a personal name. I'd say the story was made up by Nora Roberts.

Fairies are not part of history, they're part of lore, myth & legend. They are not part of Irish lore, myth or legend.
It's a complete work of fiction made up by Nora Roberts.

Well if you consider that faeries don't exist so are not part of history, then the answer is no.
