    1. I enjoy the passage when Monks sees Oliver and yells, Death! Rot you! What are you doing here?" Monks is a typical Victorian villain--he is selfish and resentful over the fact that Oliver inherited their father's estate.

    2. I enjoy the passage where Fagin is introduced. Fagin is not really as bad an adult as most people think. I mean, orphans and runaways were essentially slave laborers, and Fagin treats the boys very kindly.

    3. I enjoy the passage after Bill Sykes has murdered Nancy, and he sees Charley Bates. It is interesting the honor among thieves that takes place here. You could say that they are either worried that Sykes will lead the police to them, or that they prefer robbery to murder. It reminds me of the movie M.

    4. I like the passage where Oliver meets mr. Grimwig. Grimwig is so cynical, that he's lovable.

    5. I also enjoy the scene where Bulls-eye, Sykes' dog dies at the same time he does. I love dogs, but Bulls-eye is more than a dog here; he is a symbol of Sykes' viciousness. he cannot live without his evil master.
