There is a rule where
(a + b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2.
This is much more efficient than FOIL in this case.
Applying it to this:
(4a - 7b)^2 = (4a)^2 + 2(4a)(-7b) + (-7b)^2
= 16a^2 - 56ab + 49b^2
Best of luck in your future endeavors.

FOIL it out.
This is how you would expand it:
(4a-7b)^2
Expand the square:
(4a-7b)(4a-7b)
This isn't necessary, but I find it easier to use addition signs:
(4a+ -7b)(4a+ -7b)
FOIL-multiply the first terms, outer terms, inside terms, last terms:
(4a x 4a)+(4a x -7b)+(-7b x 4a) + (-7b x -7b)
Results from FOIL-ing:
16a^2 + -28ab + -28ab + 49b^2
Combine like terms:
16a^2 + -56ab + 49b^2
Put the subtraction signs back:
16a^2 - 56ab + 49b^2
And since there is no common multiple of 16, 56, and 49, this is as simple as it gets.

its already simplified to the lowest it can go
or foil which is
(16a^2-56ab+49b^2)

(4a-7b)(4a-7b)
FOIL
16a^2-28ab-28ab+49b^2=
16a^2-56ab+49^2
Idk if its right
