The vampire mythos was popularized in Western Europe in the early 18th century. They were known to stalk the areas where they once lived and cause various mischief and would often hang around their families homesteads. The drank the blood of the living in order to survive and originally appeared as bloated, shroudedd figures. The pale, lanky vampire that we know and love today didn't come around until the late 19th century with the stories of Nosferatu and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Around this time vampire superstition flooded Europe specifically areas such as the Balkans and Eastern Europe. Although Vampire (or Vampir) was not the common name for the creatures. They had different names from region to region most notably the Greek: Vrykolakas and the Romanian: Strigoi. Vampires can be anyone, usually believed to function either in massive groups or as solitary killers, anyone can be turned into a vampire. The legend works two different ways, either a person must have all of their blood drained from the body by a vampire, or they must drink the vampires blood in order to be turned. As far as whether or not vampires exist, thats up to you. There is a vampyric underground subculture in which some people do claim to partake in blood-letting activities. However, if you are talking about the supernatural vampire of folklore, their existence is highly debateable. Although, some cultures still believe in they hunt and prey on the innocent. As far as their language is concerned, vampires speak their native tongue, whatever that language may be. If you are referring to the original vampires of myth, they most likely spoke Romanian, although I've also heard that they may have spoken an early form of Russian.

Vampires speak whatever language the person spoke when alive.

About the history of vampires, it really is a fascinating subject. Vampires are a sort of "paradox," according to the biomechanical humanoid Adam. A demon trapped within a souless human body, vampires belong to neither demon nor human worlds. They are outcasts, rejected by other demons. The first vampire was created by a demon in an attempt to infiltrate the human dimension and eventually reclaim it. As for where you'll find vampires, they can be anywhere, but you'd find more around a Hellmouth, a center of mystical convergence, a portal to hell dimensions. (Sunnydale is a famous example.)

vampires, like you see in movies, are not real. Dracula is not real, Edward Cullen is not real, the vampires from Queen of the Damned arent real. There are however very strange people such as Elizabeth Bathory, who thought blood from her servant girls made her younger and is called a "vampire" by society so her behaviors are easier to explain. But society knows that she isnt a "vampire".

every culture has a folklore story about vampires. so they dont really "come from" one place.

vampires are usually undead beings who live of off the blood of living beings.

vampires probably speak the language they spoke before they were turned into vampires. vampires in england speak english, vampires in france speak french, vampires in china speak chinese.

i think you could google this question and find far better information.
