Ladies, how important are looks (physical features and presentation) on a first date when considering a 2nd?

Here is the situation. You have agreed to go on a first date with a guy (so he's obviously attractive enough to warrant a first date). What is the criteria you check him against to land him a second date, where do looks fall on that list, can they be compensated for, and how can the be compensated. If you need more details let me know and I'll add them. Also, this not for me, it's for a discussion I'm having with the guys at work so I don't need a pep talk ( I appreciate the thought though). Be COMPLETELY honest.

Update:

Dani Girl, Great answer. High marks. I'm married and don't date anymore, but if I did I'm not sure I could win you over. I would be to nervouse. I don' think I could be that casual.

i personally have very strict standards. i dont like overweight guys. it shows lack of self control. thick is ok not a belly tho. a guy who works out is nice, hands always mean alot to me. a man with nice "working hands" scars, callouses.. etc show he is a hard working man. soft white manicured hands are a turn off. dress is oh so important. a guy who cares about his appearance means he will care what presentation he has. wokring with what God gave you. if a man is hort its ok he'll accept that and make the most of it, or perhaps not the best looking he'll try to be the funniest etc. flashing cash or making references therof is a turn off, sexually based jokes, looking at the waitress, talking about ex's a big no. a guy who is in nice attire( not baggy pants gansta look) is always sexy, you just dont want to sit down with a guy who looks like your boss tho. a nice dress shirt perhaps some jeans and a dinner jacket or something. a guy with a sense of humor will always win me over. ( not jokes tho) they falll horribly flat. a guy who is not "handsy" trying to get to any base. a guy who seems really interested and asks questions ( not like a reporter tho) who opens a door, pulls out a chair or offers the crook of his arm to a girl always a plus. just be the person you are and try to sharpen a few things and be most of all genuine. thats whats attractive.

    p.s. lol thanks ;-)
