What brand of laptop/notebook would you recommend getting?

I'm choosing among:

HP, Compaq, Lenovo, Mac, Dell, Acer? ...and why would you recommend it?

And if possible, include a price range in USD. Thanks! :D

I'm considering buying a Mac though. Cuz it's expensive. >.<

I'm completely behind the Mac 100%. Of course, it depends on what you'll be using it for...

School, office, production (music, photos, etc...) = Mac! (Cost: $599.00 - $3299.00USD)

Gaming, browsing, recreational production = Acer! (Prices vary by retailer, but I'd think a minimum of $399.00 is a reasonable estimate.) That's what I use for my home "fun" stuff, and I use my Mac for all my "important" stuff that I can't afford to lose. Time Machine (Mac OS X 10.5 and up) is the best backup software on the market in my opinion.

I was thinking about getting a Mac too, though I'm not sure yet. By the way, if you like normal notebook, I'd suggest HP and Dell, and maybe Acer. HP because every model runs great, even if its a netbook or a big desktop Pc. Dell for the same reason (I have a Dell). Acer isn't bad, and probably is one of the less expensive, but It's not very durable. If you're thinking about a Mac, and you don't have money problem, get a 15 MacBook Pro, possibly with 3.06 Ghz if you can find it. That's just incredible. Fast, easy, Fast and you can do anything with it. and it's Very durable. Or, if you like esthetics, why not A MacBook Air? It's definetely eyes-catching, and its performances aren't bad at all.

Mac's are the most powerful, safest, and fastest operating systems yet made by Apple. Has a high resolution. Good looking designs.

A Laptop will cost you 1,400 or more.

A desktop iMac depends on screen size and HD. It'll cost you from 1,100 to 1,500.

Best for graphic designing and more ease to use.

    More reliable than Windows.

I am a Mac fan switched from windows.

I know what i am saying.

    There price are worth it!

If money is not an issue, do get a Mac (Mac Mini's start at $600). It will make your life easier, more fun, but alas, also more expensive. It will also look good on your desk and play well with your iPod.

If you want 'bang for your buck', get a Dell.

If u have the money I would go for the MacBook pro 13 inch aluminum. It starts at 1199 I think, however you get what you pay for. They are much more stable than pcs they run faster, don't get viruses, etc. It may sound like a lot I money, however it really is worth it.

Source(s): I've used both pcs an macs for 10 years
