What amount of house deposit for first time buyer in suburbs of Glasgow?

We want to move from Dublin to the suburbs of Glasgow in the next few years. we might rent at first but hope to buy our first property there. Our budget would be 150,000 for a 3 bedroomed maximum. How much of a deposit would we be needing to pay approx? thanks.

Update:

Gosh, I thought that 20% would be the very most they would look for. Thanks. Keep the answers coming.

Update 2:

Have been on the Gspc or whatever it is called and there seems to be houses for that price. I can understand that the westend would be more expensive and we wouldn't want to be that close to the city. Thinking of Dumbartonshire or Renfrewshire or something. Not ready to move yet but want to know how much we need to be saving.

A lot of mortgage companies today are asking for 25% so on 150,000 that'll be 37,500. You may find one who only asks for 10% (15,000) if you're lucky.

I come from Glasgow and sorry to say £150.000 wont even buy a flat in some parts of the city. Where I used to live in the West End flats can cost £300.000 or more.

To get a house for that price you will need to live quite far out.

10 to 25% depending on income, employment/prospects and mortgage deal offered.

Anyway the more you save the less you borrow so has to be good news really.
