Is the word "uberwhite" racist?
I saw a user describe another person as "uberwhite" and he says because he is white this is not racist. I think it is, what do you think?

Let me ask this
would it be "racist" if I said
"uberblack"?
If you say that is racist
then you should think that saying uberwhite
is also racist.
Thinking that only uberblack is racist is
a double standard & hypocritical.
I've never heard this term before & I think its pretty stupid now that I look & it. Since there is no reason to call or classify someone uber black/white because it seems just used for an insult purpose & calling out some one's skin color to make a negative connotation, then indeed it is racist. I agree with you.

I tried to research the word and couldn't find it. Just because
the word has the word white in it doesn't make it racial or
racist. It is the context the word is use in that makes the
sentence racial or racist.

Just adding the German Ãber before the English word White does not automatically make Ãberwhite a racial slur.
In German Ãber can mean "over" or "super." Depending upon context Ãberwhite can mean "sparkling" if referring to teeth, "whiter-than-white" if referring to laundry, "dazzling" or "newly white-washed" if referring to paint.
Describing another person as "Ãberwhite" can mean "pasty" or "corpse-looking" or even "mid-1950's American culture" as well as "tending toward white supremacy." Suzie Creamcheese, Beaver Cleaver and Dick Nixon are not "skinheads", but could be referred to as Ãberwhite.
When it comes to words, one person's common usage is another person's vulgarity. The word "Ãberwhite" is still in development. Some people will use it as a racial slur. Others may have a different meaning in mind.
