What to wear to a beer and wine tasting party?

I'm 18, and I don't drink. So going seems pointless. But I'm dating a 22-year-old, which is how I got mixed into this thing. His friend is having this party, and he wants me to go with him. I've never been to an event like this. I have an idea of what to wear, just want to hear suggestions.

Update:

Not sure how 'classy' these people are. I've never met his friends. He's a classy guy, but you can't always assume his friends will be the same. Any ideas on an outfit that works for either situation?

You can NEVER go wrong with black or red. Now, well for a long time, it is ok to wear black or red with a nice pair of jeans and some cute shoes. Maybe a little cute necklace and earrings. This is my personal opinion, but darker jeans that you can run an iron over look much nicer than light ones, but that is me. : )

Me, I am a hair stylist. My favorite kind of clothes to buy are things that I can dress up or dress down. I have a black top that I can dress up with a nice pair of slacks, or I can wear it casual with some jeans.

A simple silver or gold necklace always looks nice with either stud or dangly earrings. Pearls are supposed to the the "in" thing this fall. Do your hair nice either straight or maybe some curls.

You can never go wrong, and even if you do dress nice, you will make a good impression but you won't feel like you are over doing it. Don't wear a winter ball gown! haha . Just wear something you would go to lets say, the "Olive garden". A place where you can dress up or dress casual. Find an in between way to dress.

Ask your boyfriend what his friend is like, and ask what kind of house he has. ( sounds bad but its true) Seriously, this can give you an idea if they are sophisticated or laid back. There is nothing wrong with making a call or asking your boyfriend to see if this is casual or fancy. You can also kind of sneak in the question by calling them and aksing if you can bring anything and then you can ask them what kind of party this is. You will come across as very polite and they will definately want to meet you and compliment your boyfriend on what a nice girlfriend he has. (brownie points for you! : )

To me this kind of party is one that you want to dress comfortable, yet nice. If it was just beer, then I'd say dress casual. But since there is wine involved, you may expect cheese and some snacks.

Have fun! I'm sure either way you will look beautiful! : ) I'm glad that you don't drink yet, you have plenty of years to enjoy an alcoholic beverage every once in a while. Just so you don't have to deal with pressure of "oh have a glass of wine" you can bring some sparkling cider to maybe share with another person who doesn't drink. Always have a beverage with you so people don't keep asking you if you want some wine. Seems like his friends are also young so don't be suprised if they try to pressure you to have "just one".

properly an problem-free component I used to do is purchase strawberry daquri blender mixture. Theres no alcohol in it until you upload some and you basically combination it with ice. you isn't waiting to purchase non alcoholic wine and beer because of the fact even n/a lager and wine somewhat do have alcohol in them.
