why arctic's ice has less than antartic's although both of them have the same temperature?

    Actually, Antarctica is considerably colder than the arctic, sometimes falling below

    -100F near the south pole. The arctic ice cap is much thinner and sits on the Arctic ocean. Antarctica has ice thousands of feet thick in some areas and it sits on a land mass.
