I am traveling to Guadalajara, Mexico and need a cheap, but decent place to stay. Any suggestions?

I've stayed in this hostel many times: Hostel de Maria. I love it. The staff is friendly and always willing to help you and there usually is someone there who speaks English in case you don't know Spanish.

It's conveniently located in the downtown (el centro) and you can walk pretty much anywhere or take one of the nearby buses which costs around 30 cents (the normal bus) and 1 dollar (the luxury bus). The subways is within walking distance, too.

Hotel New York near San Juan de Dios mercado(market). The rooms are clean no air conditioning just ceiling fan!! Cost about $35.00 a nite. You said cheap!!
