Piper: 2/10. Reminds me of the Pied Piper. Not pretty or feminine at all.

Isla: 6/10. Has an interesting Celtic sound.

Misty: 2/10. I'll take stripper names for 500! It's a nice name for a grey or paint mare, though...

Scarlett: 9/10. Needs a traditional middle name IMO to keep it classy, but I love Gone With the Wind too much not to love this.

Violet: 10/10. Pretty, intelligent, and thoughtful-sounding.

Skye: 4/10. Too hippie for my taste...works better as a middle name.

Sienna: 5/10. Not my style, but could work for a little girl with particularly beautiful golden-brown skin, hair, or eyes.

Fox: 2/10. Besides being slang for a hot chick, this reminds me of Fox Mulder on the X-Files. Might work for a boy...

Raven: 2/10. This is a stereotypical goth name.

Storm: 2/10 for a person. Good for a grey or black horse though!

River: 7/10. Normally not my style, but I do love Firefly, so I imagine this as a very tough but pretty little girl.

Phoenix: 4/10. I just don't care for the way it looks/sounds. I'd give it a pass if it had some deep significance to the parents, like if they met in Phoenix, AZ, or if the mom and baby survived a fiery car crash while she was pregnant.

Sage: 5/10. Too hippie for me, but it might work as a middle name, especially if the first is very long and traditional.

Sparrow: 5/10. Cute, but I can't help thinking of a very plain, sad, unassuming little brown-haired girl.

Clover: 3/10. This is a better name for a pet bunny.

Harlow: 1/10. I just really hate the sound...a combination or harlot and hollow. A hollow harlot.

Shiloh: 2/10. Just doesn't sound pretty or feminine to me.

Poppy: 7/10. I like this one! Sounds like a bright, pretty, outgoing, sort of silly/giggly girl.

Daisy: 6/10. It's OK on its own, but I like it better as an old-fashioned nickname for Margaret/Marguerite (marguerite is French for daisy).

    Blue: 2/10. This is a dog's name.

Bluebell: 2/10. Another pet name...maybe a mini horse?

    Pixie: 1/10. Teddybear hamster.

Zahara: 2/10. I see a lovely chestnut Arabian mare with a long flaxen mane...not a human!

You have some awesome animal names, and few good human names here. My favorites are Scarlett, Violet, River, and Poppy.

  • I like Isla, it's becoming popular in the UK though. And i'm not a lover of loads of children sat in a class with the same names. Skye is cute, but again common now. Harlow is a nice name, but Nicole Richies daughter, and the same with Shiloh, therefor i'd never name my child any of those. Daisy is such a cute name, but i doubt i'd use it, i'm not sure why. Thats the only names i liked. All the others are way over the top! ♥

By usable, do you mean if I would name a child that?

Piper - Unusable. I don't think it sounds like a name.

Isla - Usable. This name is gorgeous!

Misty - Unusable. Misty was the name of my sister's hamster.

    Scarlett - Usable. It's a georgous name.

Violet - Usable. One of my favourites,

Skye - Unusable. Too trendy for my liking.

Sienna - Usable. I've always been fond of this name.

Fox - Unusable. This is the name of animal, not a baby.

Raven - Unusable. I really don't like it.

Storm - Unusable. I used to have a dog named Storm.

River - Unusable. I don't like it at all.

Phoenix - Usable. This is my brother's son's name!

Sage - Usable. I like it as a girl's name.

Sparrow - Unusable. No, no, no, no, no.

Clover - Unusable. This is absolutely hideous.

Harlow - Usable. I actually really like this name.

Shiloh - Usable. Cute. I'd never use it, though.

Poppy - Unusable. No, it reminds me of popcorn.

Daisy - Unusable. I have a dog named Daisy.

Blue - Unusable. Just don't like it.

Bluebell - Unusable. Sounds like the name of a cow.

Pixie - Unusable. I'd consider it, if she were a fairy.

Zahara - Unusable. Seems really foreign, in my opinion.

I think a lot of these names are popular because their famous parents wanted something unique. Most of these names I don't care for to be honest.
