My Chicken's comb never grew & she doesn't lay eggs?
I bought two point of la Warrens at the same time. One started laying a week later & her comb grew. The other still has a tiny pale comb & has never laid an egg some 6 months later. Is there anything that can be done to get her laying or is she defunct please?

Some Chickens do not grow large combs.and the Comb has nothing to do with it's ability to lay eggs,it is probably not ready to lay yet.
Like all birds they do not lay on command or when you want them too.so just have patience.

They could be different ages or one could of matured faster than the other. When I bought my first four Rhode Island Reds, they didn't start laying at the same time. Like the person above me said, their comb has nothing to do with them laying eggs. Just give it some time.

If it laid an egg, it's a hen. The comb and spurs are curious, but not unheard of in a dominant hen. There are a number of reports of people with a flock of all females having one hen grow a larger comb and spurs, and show dominant behaviors, even crowing in some cases.
