was this a good tip? READ BELOW?

i was at a hair salon and my bill was 10 dollars, and i tipped the lady 5 dollars, so my total bill was 15 dollars, how was the tip?

good? bad? so so? could of done better?

i wanted her to feel happy so that way she will always do a good job on my hair

    20% is usually adequate for an exceptional job.

    Your 50% tip means you really, really, really liked the haircut.

    10 to 20% is normal. 50% sounds over the top to me. However, 10$ for a haircut sounds kinda cheap to me, so maybe giving her a 50% tip might encourage her to give you better than normal attention and make it worthwhile.

    I don't know what the normal rate is in the US, but in Europe I pay the equivalent of USD 30, which is the normal rate charged. Of course there are salons that are way more expensive than than.
