But Garth is pretty high up on my list.

For COUNTRY George Strait, Garth Brooks was more of a Pop artist and really helped start the current Pop as Country. Sure Garth's music was more of a Country flavor(lyrically) then most of today's music, but it was still one of the first big artists to bring back this sound.

George Strait. Don't get me wrong though, I do like Garth Brooks, but he's just not nearly as country as George Strait...but, yeah--I like George Strait a lot more.

Well I like them both, Even though GEORGE STRAIT is my favorite all time artist. But as far as to who is best it can be judged two ways. By opinion, or by fact.

George Strait, has amassed a total of 57 number one hits overall, breaking a record previously set by Conway Twitty.

While Garth Brooks has 19 number ones. The Recording Industry Association of America announced that Garth Brooks was the best-selling solo artist of the 20th century in America.[44] This conclusion drew criticism from the press and many music fans who were convinced that Elvis Presley had sold more records, but had been short-changed in the rankings due to faulty RIAA certification methods during his lifetime. So if we go bye that Factor. George Strait is better.
