hello, i have a gateway mt3422 laptop purchased new august 2007 at bestbuy. it is an AMD athlon 64x2 dual core processor TK-53 1.7ghz. i upgraded the ram to kingston 4gb a few days ago, and that helped alot.
i would like to know if i can get a faster CPU, or what other upgrades can i do to speed up this slow-poke. i only use it for personal stuff, email, music, photos. thats its .
ive checked for viruses and trojans and my AVG scanner says im clean, and i recently reformated the entire windows drive, and the laptop is now in BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS. i have no other software except for AVG scanner and Rhapsody.

The CPU on your Lappy is probably integral with the motherboard and can't be upgraded.
Adding memory was a step in the right direction but if you want more speed buy a better computer, preferably with an Intel processor..

There aren't any retailers in the business of selling laptop motherboards. Let alone one that would even fit your particular laptop shell. You're out of luck. Either accept the facts and move on, or, buy a new laptop with a faster CPU and GPU like you're needing. It's that simple.
