HELP MY CONTACT LIST IS MISSING!
First make sure you have Yahoo! Messenger set to show offline contacts: Click Contacts at the top of Y!M, choose Show/Hide and make sure Offline Contacts is checked, if not then select it. If that is not the issue then exit Yahoo! Messenger by right clicking the Yahoo! icon by your clock and choosing Exit. Then launch Y!M again. If you still do not see them then please continue reading!
Also sign into Yahoo Messenger for the Web and check if you see your contacts there. Be sure to sign out of the regular Yahoo Messenger first.

The directions below have helped others, I hope it helps you too.
1. Sign out of Yahoo! Messenger
2. Sign in at http://address.yahoo.com/
3. Use the drop down menu at the top of your contacts list on the left to change it to View Deleted Contacts.
4. Select contacts you wish to restore
5. Click the "Restore" button
6. Sign back into Yahoo! Messenger
