For Yahoo Classic or All New Mail....
First you can click on the email and then on spam
in the header list.
If that doesn't work then >>>>>
Go to "Options" > Mail Options > SPAM
Enter the address you want to block
Then Click “Add Block”
good luck

I've started writing to the companies that appear in the Inbox ads and asking them to stop advertising on Yahoo.

I'd just like to add that recently at the top of my personal homepage email box are YAHOO ADS that appear as emails. I have not found a way to completely delete these things. They appear at the top, are highlighted in blue in my list, usually three lines long with a logo to the side of the company YAHOO ADS is sending to me. I once followed an instruction BY YAHOO to hover over the ad and then hit "Spam," and wound up deleting a perfectly good ad below this highlighted YAHOO AD. Contacting YAHOO or YAHOO ADS does not resolve this and I am SO SICK AND TIRED of this. How can they do this? Every day I am stuck with looking at these ads, opening them to unsubscribe does not work, it's this new thing they think we need. I DO NOT NEED YAHOO AD SPAM. I am hoping by putting this note in here that SOMEthing will be done. I will not be coming back here as I don't know how in the world I got here to begin with; I'm just glad I had a place to vent, and hopefully a place that YAHOO ADS visits sometimes to see how their annoying program is doing. IT IS HORRIBLE and I cannot make it stop. As soon as I can switch to another homepage and change my email, I will, but as all you readers know, switching an email address is a nightmare. If I keep my email, I presume I'll keep getting these unauthorized and unwanted email YAHOO ADS. Yahoo, if you are reading this, I am certain the vast majority of people who consider their personal emails private, are quite annoyed and, like me, cannot do one single thing about it. Contacting you, which I've read in many other places like this, is next to impossible, including trying to call. I do not like YAHOO for many reasons, and this is one of them. As soon as I can reject you without losing my old email (since the very beginning of being online back in the early 2000s or late 1990s, I forget which) or at least being advised by my new home page that I can keep my old email address (sorry, I'm older and thus not as computer savvy, despite having used computers since the early 1980s when I worked on newspapers as a writer and editor for a living, and so I just don't know if my email will follow me to a new home page. YAHOO, you are an indifferent, annoying, and rather poor homepage in general. Thank you for allowing me to rant in this section and I hope I get a million votes.

Adblock plus doesn't hide all ads, and it also makes your browser slow. Since you said you are using Firefox (I use that too) just install this one add-on which fixes ALL Yahoo ads!
"Yahoo Mail Hide Ad Panel" https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...
The description says install the latest version, but the Install button works for me.

I've been using it for quite some time now - and it gives me all advantages of Ad-Free mail"

Is Rogers complicit in this flood of unwanted e-mail advertisements? Since Rogers started using YAHOO mail, it has gone downhill.

If you have Firefox then simply copy the following into your search box.
"Yahoo Mail Hide Ad Panel"https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox
This brilliant little Ad-On takes less than 30 to install and clears these annoying adverts for good.

I am also very pissed at yahoo and its stupid advertising concept. I am a PAYING CUSTOMER and indeed they suck...what do I pay for-to get advertisements!!! I and many others will be looking for a better provider. Yahoo and their concept of advertising to their followers/customers sucks!

One way we get this junk mail is when we visit web sites. You leave a tracking cookie. Also when you sign up for things. Just mark them spam without opening them. It will take time for it to stop but it will slow down soon.
