Has anyone's child had the swine flu yet?

My husband just found out today that he has the swine flu and we have a 3 month old son and I was just wondering if your child had it how bad was it? Did you have to go to the hospital? My Dr. went ahead and started me on Tamiflu and we are keeping my husband away from my son but I am just terrified of him getting it, he already had to spend the first 10 days of his life in the NICU for pnumonia and I really don't want him to go through that again. Thanks for any info you can give me.

I am acquainted with a family. The 5 year old boy got swine flu a few weeks ago. This boy spent 6 months in the NICU after birth. He was on a ventilator for 3 years. He has been fine for 2 years. The swine flu was not a big deal for him, fever and cough.

He has a 3 year old brother and a 10 month old sister. They were fine.

If your husband has it, you son has already been exposed. Most likely he will be fine, even if he gets it. If he gets sick take him to his pediatrican, if it seems to be more serious than a cold. For most people and my little friend too, it is little more than like a cold.

If you are not sure, talk to your pediatrician.

I am an RN. He was my patient for 3 years at home.

No, we've been lucky. So far my stepson has only had a regular bad cold. Good luck to you and your family.
