My baby doesn't mouth toys or self feed..?
I really only want people who have had babies like this to answer because if you haven't dealt with this personally you probably don't understand...
I have almost 9 month old baby she hate anything being put in her mouth other than her bottle. She licks food off of her spoon and on that she will only eat squash and sweet potatoes.
Since she won't put anything in her mouth this also means food. She can pick up anything she wants. She plays with her puffs and the dogs end up with them.
I know I am lucky she doesn't put random things in her mouth but will she ever self feed? If you had a baby like this when did your self feed?

To reassure you it does take some babies a little while to get the hang of solid food. Someone once told me "food is fun until they're one"
If your daughter is taking milk well, then let her keep tasting and experiencing new foods and she will get there. Let her watch you eat - make it fun. If she can pick things up then that's a great start! Squash and sweet potato are also great foods for a 9 month old.
I did Baby Led Weaning (recommended by UNICEF and WHO) with my third child so she's never had a spoon or pureed food, just milk and whatever she wanted to put in her mouth - it took her about 3 months to get the hang of it and eat a decent amount. She's 16 months now and eats anything - but will not let me feed her and never has!
If you're worried then see a health professional - HV if you're in the UK - don't know what's available elsewhere.

I wouldn't worry about it. Some babies around her age will feed themselves finger foods. But babies won't spoon feed themselves until about 18 months or more. She is new to finger foods. Does she have any teeth? That is also a factor. She may be nervous to have food in her mouth until she has more teeth.
Show her how to feed herself. Put the food in her mouth. Then hold it in your hand and see if she will pick it up. Guide it to her mouth for her.
A lot of babies are picky eaters.
