confusing graphics card issue?

hi guys

i have an issue that has stumped me, my mums computer is a shop built pc with the following spec

AMD Duron 1.3Ghz

128MB SD-RAM

20GB HDD

Geforce MX440 64MB graphics card

it is the graphics card that is the problem, i have COMPLETELY reloaded the operating system and have downloaded and installed the correct drivers for the computers graphics card from the Nvidia website

the computer displays POST screen and shows windows loading then when it trys to boot in to windows the screen input cuts out, the computer will work in safe mode (i am using my mums computer now in safe mode with networking to type this)

i dont understand why the graphics card is not working in normal windows as it is a fresh re-install and it has the correct drivers

so... help!!

i know the computers spec is low but its all she needs for what she does so a new computer is not an option i need a genuine answer from someone that can help me to solve this, thank you

"it is the graphics card that is the problem" ? You have video output, therefore it isn't the graphics card.

If it won't boot properly to Windows, then there is a conflict somewhere with your software. In safe mode, try updating Windows and see if that doesn't "fix" the problem.

That actually sounds like the resolution that is set on the computer is out of sync for the monitor. Are you using a CRT or an LCD? And if its an LCD and its higher than 59/60Mhz, there thats the issue. You're going to have to boot into safe mode, remove the video driver and restart into normal mode and let windows install the generic driver and will reset your refresh rate / resolution. This is what is seems like to me.

    Good Luck

Get the main recent nvidia motive force equipment. Unplug and finished reinstall the cardboard. (try this universal) determine the nvidia application is desperate to apply application or video games image settings in basic terms. 60c is an entire load tempature for my amd6970, and one hundred or 120c may be catastrophic. So yeah i'm gonna say it somewhat is overheating. this might positively decelerate overall performance. there is likewise an particularly tiny risk which you shorted something interior the potential glitch yet that has got here approximately to me in the previous the place the computer might nonetheless be on and that i never had a topic.
