Has Slater done enough to keep his Test spot?

He really stepped up when it counted last night and showed just what he can do. Is it enough to see him named as the Australian fullback ( he is the incumbent ) or will Hayne get the job? Do you think Hayne will step up against St George like Slater did against Manly?

I expected Slater to retain the fullback position and Hayne to play on the wing before that performance - now its a certainty - great time to peak.

I dont think it was ever in danger. Slater has to be in every possible representative team, he is the best fullback in the game. Hayne no doubt will get a wing spot because he can play there, selectors will never drop Slater from the team to put in Hayne when they can have both with Hayne on the wing & Billy at fullback.

When Slater plays well, he plays brilliant football, it is a pity that he is not very consistent this year. May be after HAyne won the Dally M award, Slater felt threatened n stepped up his game last night n did really well.

We might have to see a few more of the same performance to prove that he is worthy of keeping his jersey.

It is also quite possible Hayne will step up then things will be very interesting.

Very interesting footy this year, things are just soo unpredictable.

Very good question. Hayne has been the inform fullback of the last few months. Good enough to steal a Dally M right from under the nose of Soward and Thurston. I think it depends on who win the GF and if there are big changes in the side because of it.

Slater had a blinder last night. It will be interesting to see what happens on Sunday. Do or Die for Parra.

I think the selectors have both Slater and Hayne in their sights. The incumbent usually has the edge unless their form is terrible. How things pan out over the next few weeks will have a big bearing on their final decision.

At the moment I think they will favour Slater as he has performed well over a longer period of time and hasn't done anything to spoil his chances in previous rep games.

Billy at fullback and Hayne out on the wing.

Australian selectors are pretty loyal i think and they wont just cut off Billy because of a quite season he may have had this year. I expect him to fire in the next couple of games.

hayne has experience on the wing so why not play them both, moving hayne into fullback and slater to hooker for a bit that'll give smith a breather also.

Slater will keep it as Hayne will most likely go to the wing.

Look at origin. Hayne ripped it up from the wing. So why not keep him on the wing with Slater at the back. Thats what i would do.

slater has done very well but i still think Hayne will take the fullback spot.

and i think hayne will pick it up against the dragons.
