A moneyless economy is either barter or a commune.

    Neither idea works.

But OK, you want to know what would it take to make it work.

Barter works only if the person who has what you want is willing to exchange it for what you have. If that person has no use for what you have, you keep looking.

A commune works only if everybody does their fair share of the work for free, and they take only their fair share for free. I think your local police department keeps pretty busy with people who take more than their share without paying. And communist countries found out how much people are willing to work for no pay - they don't work at all.

That's why we invented money. It's the one thing everybody is willing to take in exchange for what they have to sell, and everybody is willing to accept it as wages for their work.

Simply by use of debit and credits against bank accounts for every person and company. It is quite possible right now (use encrypted cards) if we wanted to. Consumer acceptance may not be there as yet because of mistrust of government and banks.

    Back to the barter system.
