If jeter gets a hit in the 1st inning and passes Gerhig, and the game gets cancelled?

Does jeter still have the record? Someone told me the game is canceled. I thought they continue it tom.

If it doesn't go 5 innings then none of the stats count and the game will be replayed in its entirety.

That's why when Cal Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's consecutive game streak it didn't become official until after the 5th inning. That's when they stopped the game and Cal did his lap around the park.

If it does not go under 5 innings then its not an official game therefore Jeter does not pass Lou Gehrig but if it does pass after 5 innings and Jeter gets the hit Then its official, Jeter passes the all time yankees hit record and the game is official.

If the game is canceled before the bottom of the 5th it is not an offical game but if the game was to be called after the 5th it would be an offical game. so therefore jeter would not pass Gerhig

If it does not reach 5 innings and become an official game then all stats are wiped out and the game may or may not be replayed.
