HELP! My tank is killing fish!!!!?

Ok so we have a 1 gallon tank it has a bubble stone but no filter. We have gravel one plastic plant and a ceramic figurine. Our first fish Nemo lived in the tank about 8 months. The water was very dirty. I had waited way to long to change the water. The morning after I cleaned his tank he was dead. I got on line and started learning. Anyway we didn't get nother fish for a few days. I rinsed everything really well with hot water no chemicals. Ran the water room temp, put in the apropriate amount of Start Right and let the fish float in the bag for 15min. Net him and put him in. Three days later the water was cloudy and the top of the tank had foam buity up. The fish Nemo2 was on him side near the bottom having a hard time breathing. I immediatley prepper a new batch of water and moved him over. He seemed to get better for a while and the next time I came back to check he was dead. So I went four months no fish. I threw out all the ornaments gravel everything. I cleaned the whole tank with hot water no chemicals and filled the tank with boiling water leaving all the plactic parts to soak too. It dried naturally and then I rinsed everything well filled the watter the same way I had before let him, a fancy gold fish, float in his bag, net and into the tank. Today is day 3 the water sorat looked a bit cloudy but barley and the foam was at the top of the tank. I immediatly made a fresh bowl of water, or bucket rather. Well thank God I got to this one faster cause so far the golf fish has completley recovered. It took about 10min in the fresh water for him to come back. He was trying to swim but couldn't seem to stay right side up. Then he just went flat on his side. Now he is all back to normal. But what the heck is wrong with my tank. What am I doing wrong? Should I dump the whole thing and buy I new set up with a filter and stuff? I don't mind buying whatever. I am so determined that this fish live! I am an animal lover and hate to see animals sick and especially die especially if it is because I did something wrong. Please tell me step by step what I need and how to prepare and maintain the water so my fish are happy and healthy. Also this may be a silly question but do fish get lonley? Is it mean for me to have just one?

Update:

No one has answered my questions! Stop telling me I don't know enough and tell me what I need to know. How do I cycle a tank. What do I do with the poor fish who is waiting for me to figure out what to do. How is he fine in the bowl and dead in the tank? Oh and his name is Nemo he is not a nemo breed. My daughter named him nemo from the movie because he is orange and white.

You need to immediately return the goldfish, and spend a heck of a lot more time researching general fish care.

    1. A single gallon of water is useless for fish.

    2. All fish should have filtration.

    3. Goldfish are massive waste producers and in such a small tank can easily poison themselves to death.

    4. A single fancy goldfish should have about a 20 gallon aquarium and heavy filtration. If you want a pair purchase at least a 30 gallon, or for a trio a 40 gallon. (20 for the first, 10 for each additional)

    5. Cycle the tank prior to adding fish! A new set up is biologically dead and so contains no bacteria to break down fish waste. That bacteria needs to be given time (4-6 weeks) to accumulate.

Your filter only sucks in the dead. Fish die for many reasons like there own poo, soap resadu, maybe your tank ornaments where contaminated an you didnt rinse them right an your others happen to be more resistant than the ones that died. Your filter should be on at all times or your fish will start dying anyways. If your fish do bite the dust clean your tank carefully cycle your water for a month and try again. As for now try 25 to50 percent water changes w/ purified water make sure your water us at the right temperature for your fish sumwere around 73 fairenheit, and make sure you don't over feed them

You have a 1 gallon fish tank.

No need to read past that.

The tank is a simply a death trap to any fish you put in. How the first one survived 8 months is a miracle I cant explain. Your experience since then is more normal.

Do a bit more internet research and save up for a proper aquarium and you will have much more success. Goldfish should live for 10-20 Years with the proper care.

yeah without a filter your fish are going to keep dying. i have a gallon and a half any mine do ok. but honestly i don't recommend it just because i'm starting to run into issues with mine. all i can say is get a filter because your fish live A LOT longer with one
