How do you peel a fresh pineapple?

I purchased 2 fresh pineapples and am looking for answers about how to peel them without the need to purchase a kitchen gadget to do it. Thanks!

easiest thing is to cut the bottom off so it can sit flat on the table, about 2 cms is pretty good. Then cut the leaves off bout an inch from the top of the pineaple, then using a bread knife make cuts about 2.5 cm in width from the top to the bottom startin each new cut on the edge of the last cut until it is completly bare of the skin

    No problem!

First sharpen your knife a dull knife is dangerous!

cut off the top green section

    cut off the bottom

about 1/4 inch on each end

cut into 4 pieces from top to bottom

place knife between skin and flesh of each piece and cut away from the skin. Then what you have left can be cut into spears or into chunks

chill until ready to serve Pineapple is good chilled or sauteed in butter sprinkled with cinnamon sugar served as a side dish with many entrees, salad or dessert.

follow Mama Jazzy Geri's instructions but be sure to also cut out the core. It's tough.

It takes such a long time. That's why I dislike pineapples.
