Is it more efficient: the computer's volume or the audio's volume?

Let's say I'm watching a YouTube video. Would it be more energy efficient to adjust the volume on the video, or turn up the speaker on my computer? Would the same answer apply when using earphones?

Thank you in advance!

Turning up the volume of the video will be more energy efficient as it just increases the digital signal that sends to the speaker which turns it into audio signal. Turning up the speaker volume will increase the energy transmitted to the speakers which sort of amplifies the digital signal, thus it uses more energy to get a higher volume.

As far as energy efficiency this is moot. Whichever is easiest for you is best. However, turning the volume down on the speaker/headphones is preferable because you will get less line noise.
