What would be a good hospitality gift?
I am going to be staying at a friends house for about a week. What would be something that I can get his parents to thank them for letting me stay there? Please keep in mind that my friend and I are teenagers so alcohol and stuff like that would be a bad idea. Thanks!
Also I will need to go on a long plane ride to get there so it needs to be something that travels easily.

Does your hometown have a "specialty" such as huckleberry jam or fresh honey? Smoked salmon?
If you have a credit card and internet access you might send them flowers to be delivered the day you leave?
Honestly, I believe your heart is in the right place but since you are a teenager I really don't think you need to get too caught up in the gift idea.
A heartfelt thank you message hand-written on a nice card would probably be sufficient.
Remember, it's the EFFORT and SINCERITY that counts - not the dollar value. :-)
You are a thoughtful person. I hope you have a lovely trip!!!!!
P.S. It is traditional for the guest (abeit an adult guest) to treat the host/hostess to something. If your parents are in a position to provide a small subsidy for your trip, perhaps they could give you $40-$50 cash so that you could take your friend, his siblings if any and his parents out for ice cream or order pizza or something. :-)

Do his parents have a hobby or something they are really interested in? Then getting something relating to that interest shows that you took the time to find out about them and then took the time to get an appropriate present. Typical inexpensive gilfs might be;
books, small implements or tools, anything that might help with the project.
This works with anything physical (like gardening) but also with more celebral things such as politics.
Bear in mind to ignore the urge to spend too much money - it can back fire.

i would say if you have been invited then you are a welcomed guest and there is no need, but a card would be nice and be thew best houseguest you can be.
keep your sleeping area neat and tidy and offer to help with dishes and whatever you see they may be struggling with.
dont offer to clean since that will be too weird and may be taken as an insult to their cleaning efforts anyway
maybe buy them dinner on your last day or something depending how much money you have of course.

a set of hand towels of various sizes - embroider the first letter of your host's last name as a bonus!
Example:
"W" if their last name is "Wizards"
...or just right their full last name!
