First, I've had success with the paddle brush thing, or just blowdrying my bangs away from my face. Both of those will give you some volume. Also, try to avoid things like tucking them behind an ear while they're still wet and ESPECIALLY straightening them, as these will completely flatten them. Depending on the look you want, you may also try teasing the ends. Also, while I know you don't want to buy and deal with product, you may try a volumizing shampoo in order to try to give them a little more bounce. Tresemme and Pantene both make really good products. Finally, Its important to realice that while you may really want bangs, they may just not be right for you. You can't force your hair to do what it's not going to. Your hair may just be too heavy, or your bangs may just not be cut right to get a whole lot of volume. If that's the case, you'll just have to make due. Good luck!

okay so i really recommend using hairspray before you straighten even though it might be bad it will make the bangs go bouncier than they would without it. also it won't be hard and stiff i promise, i do this with my hair all the time to give it volume.

spray on your heat protecting spray and brush your bangs out. then spray hairspray at the roots of your bangs and when you straighten them bump it at the roots and keep curving all the way to the end of the hair. don't just bump at the roots and straighten downwards, follow the same curve you use when you bump it at the roots.

the last step is optional, use a finishing spray to hold it in place. a finishing spray is much less stickier than hairspray (tresemme 24 hour body finishing spray is good)

You may have to get over the "WONT" use a blowdryer.

I have the same problem, I JUST got mine cut and my hairdresser used a blowdryer, then a straightener, then put hairspray in it.

Im going to give it a shot tonight because my bangs are more full then they ever have been.

You can also change your condition sorry to say but that stuff does make a difference.

    you are TOO picky.

    jeeeeeez.

you can't get your bangs to look like that with ONLY a staightener.

    sorry to burst your bubble.

    but good luck.

You need to use some type of mousse that is a volume inject. Some of my favorite volumizing mousses are:

    http://www.drugstore.com/qxp162660_333181_sespider...

    http://www.sexyhair.com/root_pump_plus.htm

You can find both of those products at your local drugstore, walmart ect.

When you get out of the shower towel dry your hair untill damp. Then put some of the mousse into your bangs. (Either one of the ones i suggested.) Then straiten as desired and you will notice the bump of volume! Hope I helped!

Take the straightener and bump it all the way down. Do it like 2 or 3 times, don't just pull it straight down, or it will come out str8.

There are foams that add volume: just add when your hair is wet. When you use the straightener they will look more full.

A good product is made by Tre Semme or Paul Mitchell

glad to know someone besides me actually has bangs!

well blowdryers work well just for bangs but you said your not using that so....

this is kind of tricky with just a straightener, because straighteners make things straight! thats their purpose!

but one way to do it is after straightening, take a brush and brush the underside of your bangs. it usually works for me

  • okay well thosse r reallllly thick bangs so unlesss u got urs cut really thick they aren't gonna do that. but could try tresemme 24 hour body colection.
