Wow.. Nice question. Each phone has its own merits and demerits.
Blackberry phones are a type of smart-phones/pocket PCs.
If you want hi speed data connectivity, powerful easily accessible e-mail client, good stand-by and talk time go for it.
If you want to shell out money for entertainment like music, videos, radio etc it will be too costly and useless for you. I would suggest you to go for some sony ericsson or Nokia xpress music.
In short Blackberry is a business class phone with hi end features for business people on the go.
Even windows mobile sometimes fail in front of it.
