even with our advanced technologies or the best warfare, why can't they find bin laden laughing in cavern?

Osama bin Laden is living in a luxurious villa in Iran with several other members of his family.

You do not really think that Osama bin Laden would want to live in a rugged part of Afghanistan or Pakistan, do you?

That is just the image that Osama bin Laden puts out to the world to make his Al Qaida thugs believe that Osama bin Laden is out there somewhere fighting with them.

Bin Laden is not anywhere near Iran. He's a Saudi Sunni, and the Iranians are Shiites. They also hate the Taliban and he has Taliban connections. The Taliban are Sunni supremacists and consider Shiites to be infidels and massacred them at least twice in Mazar i Shareef.

As for why they can't find him, what makes you think they can't... though it doesn't take technology to do it. The only way to actually be able to see him would be with satellites and those can't peer through rock into caves. And he's probably got more than one cave to hide out in. But Bin Laden was a CIA man from the start of his career, and he almost certainly still is. He most likely reports every once in a while on what he's doing and then just logs on to the internet or listens to radio to get his next instructions. Which, for the past 8 years, has been pretty much "just sit there."

If you can find some of his audiotapes, or videos from his henchmen, they probably contain some kind of hidden code to send messages to his CIA handlers. Though with the CIA just across the border, all he would really have to do is write or use a radio.

It's interesting that the news media report on and show clips of his video and tapes, but the government seems to completely censor them. The latest one is in the hands of a couple of private CT intel corporations, apparently with US government collaboration (which should be entirely illegal). SITE has a transcript of the latest one, but you can't see it unless you're a member or you can hack into the site.

Why would the US government be afraid to let people see a transcript of a Bin Laden speech? Back in the Second World War, the newsreels were full of Hitler's speeches shown verbatim. It didn't suddenly turn the people in favor of Hitler. Not censoring the Bin Laden transcripts wouldn't turn people into recruits for him, either. He mostly just rants, and makes grandiose remarks that sound like they were scripted in a Beltway think tank. So why doesn't the government want them seen? Maybe there is hidden, coded content.

Well he's probably in Pakistan right now and if someone doesn't make and transmissions regularly or is only in contact with other high ups on special occasions, he's hard to track. Osama hasn't said anything personally in a long time and probably only a few people in the Taliban know where he is. I'm sure he's not really calling the shots any more as we've fired quite a lot of hellfire missiles to kill numerous terrorist "masterminds"

Bil Laden is most likely already dead. Look at your other comments...he's in Iran, Pakistan etc...he's gotta be somewhere, or the wars are over. If he is alive, he is probably right here in the US living the life of luxury courtesy of the CIA and our tax dollars..

Its simple: Osama Bin Laden is nothing more than a modern day boogeyman. He is like a sock puppet that is used to put a face on evil that way the country can rally around.

You know parents tell kids about the boogeyman so they will behave and go to sleep. Same thing with Osama...every time the government feels that the people are rising up too much or are dissatisfied (like most are with economy and war)they put out a phoney Osama tape (like they did recently). Basically to remind the people essentially " the listen to us and go along with our fruitless war or the boogeyman will get you".

We do not have technology that can see thru anything.

We cannot see into a cave, into the back of a covered truck, into a car, into a house.

plus, using satelite images, there is just to much area to cover and it would take to many people to look at every square yard, every single day.

Pakistan has 930 billion sq yards, and you would need to look at images in sq yards to identify a person.

You could probally look at each acre of land and ignore those with no one showing.

but there are still 191 million acres in pakistan.

So if you could look at one image every 5 secs, it would take 11,000 people , 24 hours to look at a image of every acre in pakistan.

it would take even more, to look at closer images that showed people.
