When you turned in the pages to the quest-giver, he assembled the pages you gave him into one of the Chapters of the final book (which he gives to you).
The objective of the original quest was to get all four chapters of 'The Green Hills of Stranglethorn. Assuming you have already finished all four of the 'Chapter' quests (got from the same quest-giver), you can hand the Chapters (I, II, III & IV) and he will assemble the four chapters into the finished book (which he keeps).
