Did you hear what Johnny miller said today at BMW open golf?

Alright, at one point during sunday telecast after Sean o'hair hit a shot. He said if o'hair can putt better , he is the next Tiger. I mean come on, give me a break, I know he is a great o'hair fan and O'hair is a good ball striker but thats just ridiculous comments to make on TV.

He used to be a good announcer but now I think he is way off on some of his comment on player shot, and I think he is going south from here.

Nick faldo does his homework , doing a good job at golf channel and CBS.

johnny millers 1 of those guys who just wants 2 bring tiger down...johnny miller had so much talent (unfulfilled) and had 2 giv it away coz he was hitting it up his left trouser leg and had the serious yips!!!...he said a few years back that ben hogan would roll in his grave if he saw craig parrys swing (4 those that dont know parrys 5ft 3 with a body shape of george costanza and won numerous times around the world including at doral)...hes a gutsy competitor who got every inch out of his talent and i hate 2 use that disrespectful frase johnny miller but hogan would roll in his grave if he saw the snap hooks or the 2ft putts u couldnt hole at the end of your career!!....hes that typical old guy that always reminds us "back in my day we didnt hav titanium and the balls didnt go as far"....leave your low self esteem at home when your commentating miller and accept tiger might win 22 majors and it dosnt make your era any less impressive!

  • What your tirade didn't point out is that you could easily interpret this to mean that Woods is easily the best putter on tour (look at his percentages inside of 5/6 feet- figure he doesn't miss those, and when you factor in guys like O'Hair missing 1 or 2 a round...there ya go). You also have to look at Woods' putting period. If he doesn't make the 40' putt, he leaves himself a tap-in and not the 4-5 footer coming back.

Faldo has gone downhill and is all "crumbs", "jubbly bubbly" and wouldn't criticise his Woodsness if he killed a man.

First of all he didn't say he would be another Tiger, he said he could give Tiger some competition. O'Hare is a young enough player that if he does improve there could be some great matches against him and Tiger in the future. Don't be so sensitive, these guys just talk among themselves about what they would like to see. How many people will keep watching golf if Tiger is unbeatable? Not many, it will be pretty boring, someone has to step up and give him some competition or else they'd start mailing him the checks and trophies.

Miller is about the worst of all TV colormen. His stupid comments, and memories of his own past, have little to do with golf today. Johnny, is very critical of the players shot selection, sand abilities, and putting.

I think the best new analyst is, Paul Azinger...pure natural...honest...and has the players confidance.

As for, Sean O'hair...great golfer...not in, Tiger's league, week end and week out. But nobody practices as hard as, Tiger.

Whether you want to believe it or not, Sean O'Hare is an excellent ball striker and a mediocre to poor putter. Whether Miller is a fan or not, the fact remains that putting is keeping O'Hare from being in the top echelon of today's golfers. That is a given . Miller has done his homework . He is not afraid to voice his opinion and when a " professional" golfer muffs a shot when he is one of the elite he deserves to be criticized. As for Faldo, he will never be a Venturi.

I agree. Tiger Woods is from a different planet and his strength comes from the variety of shots that are in his arsenal. Even when he is playing poorly he is still playing better than most PGA pro's when they have their A game.I doubt anyone in the field would have managed a birdie from behind a tree in round 4. Tiger Woods is probably the most underestimated player in golf today.

I used to give Miller a lot of credit for being critical when it is warranted, but this year he has spent a lot of time saying things that just sound stupid. Very tired of his act.

johnny miller is much better than nick faldo, johnny isnt concerned about his image he says what feels and thinks. and that is his thought on ohair. sir nick just tries to be funny with adding little to no technical or player color insight.
