Is there an OS that can fit into a common floppy disc (3.5in)?

Just something out of curiosity. So I'm looking for a 1.44mb or smaller OS. (best answer for smallest one)

Update:

Looking for one that fits into ONE floppy. but if it does not exist, just find the smallest

NO 1.44mb is only 1 floppy, windows would take at least 6. You could try a search for smallest linux OS. But doubt that will be any use.

    Good luck

    Best of all Linux..

"Fd Linux is a very tiny floppy distribution of Linux based on RedHat, small enough to fit on one floppy disk [kernel + root file sys ]

Fd Linux has been optimized, tested, and is able to run on as little as a 386 with 8MB of RAM!

fd linux fits in a floppy disk smallest linux disrto"

Google it and you will find more distros of linux..

Sounds like a "Lite PC" but I don't believe they have them THAT lite to fit on a floppy:

you used to be able to format a disc with systems files on it (format e:/s) so you could boot up with it.

you might try that from the command prompt.
